Kurunda Pet Bed Update!!

A few weeks back we posted a request for Kurunda Pet Bed donations for our new facility in Wantagh and we are so happy to report that we have received 41 BEDS so far!! A BIG, BIG thank you to all of our supporters who donated beds. We are so excited as this means the dogs will not have to sleep on cold concrete floors or the cats in their litter boxes. We still in need of more cat beds so please continue to support this campaign and if you’d like to order click here - Kuranda dog & cat bed.

We are now ready to roll out our new Kuranda bed campaign with our spokespets, Solly and Sheila and, of course, our Pups from Kentucky.  At the last minute Andy, our Senior Cat, had to back out due to a prior commitment– he went into foster care.   Solly and Sheila were most eager to take on his responsibilities and graciously posed for the enclosed pictures – the pups…well, they sort of just laid there which is just fine – how cute are they??? Their lives have been very difficult, but they are hoping that with their new celebrity they will find forever homes.

Shelia - "I'm ready for my close-up Mr. Demille. Kurandas make life a fantasy"

Sheila may be one of the shyest cats at the cat center, but for good reasons. She spent her whole life living in a hoarder house.  She was neglected, and not cared for. She absolutely adores other cats, especially Solly!!!!  They share similar haunting pasts. Once Shelia gains your trust, she is one of the sweetest souls you will ever meet. Her sad eyes light up, and she begs to be petted more. She is around 2 years old, and would love a home with other cats.

Solly - "You know what comes between me and my Kurunda bed? Nothing"

Solly was the victim of the “Rockville Center House of Horrors”.  He is a purebred Siamese, and is a very special and courageous cat. He is around 10 years old, and finds comfort in his  cat friends. He is very protective of his friends, and sits up high on one of the cat trees to monitor all that is going on in the center. If kittens get too rowdy, or if some of the adults have a little quarrel, Solly immediately steps in to mediate. He is desperate for an understanding home. He needs patience and compassion since he is still recovering from 10 years of abuse by humans..

Kentucky Puppies - "I think we need a bigger bed"

We are happy to report that we have adopted 7 of the eight puppies!! So if you are looking to adopt a puppy, please come by to check out Hope – she is absolutely adorable and looking for her forever home too!!
