Sunday August 20th was Last Hope’s first ever Volunteer Appreciation BBQ held at our new Wantagh Adoption Center. We celebrated with “fireworks”. Mother Nature showed her volunteer appreciation with a thunderstorm during the cook-out, and LIPA brought us a brief black-out once everyone was settled inside during dessert.

Despite the natural and man-made interference, a delicious time was had by all. Last Hope has so many wonderful volunteers at all 9 locations (the Wantagh and Huntington Adoption Centers plus the 7 retail petfood store satellite cat centers) who give of their time and themselves so our foster dogs and cats can experience unlimited love and the chance for a fabulous forever home.

Many others work behind the scenes doing fostering, feral trapping for TNR, fund raising, record keeping, publicity, maintenance and a host of other important tasks for Last Hope. We also have generous supporters including the person who donated the baseball tickets.

Thank you for everything that you do. We’re looking forward to getting the whole Last Hope team together again soon.
