Last Hope, Inc. along with the Town of Hempstead Shelter will host the Bully Breed Brigade on Sun. Nov. 13 from 11 to 3 pm on Beltagh Ave., the street that adjoins our shelters. Are you aware of the Pit Bull plight and the overwhelming number of Pit /Bully breeds languishing within shelters throughout LI and elsewhere? Shelter workers and rescuers face unique challenges placing Pit types in permanent, responsible homes while also reducing their rampant breeding and abuse.
On Sunday, November 13th, Last Hope, Inc. Animal Rescue and the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter are combining forces to devote an entire day to Pit Bull awareness, educating the public about the growing problems faced by Pits and showcasing these dogs as the wonderful pets they can be. Hopefully representatives from other municipal shelters will bring adoptable Pitties so all LI can be united in exploring ways to help these often maligned and misunderstood dogs.
The Bully Breed Brigade will include an adoption fair, speakers, trainers, vendors, holistic rehabilitation specialists, community outreach volunteers, a Tellington Touch demo and more….including a celebrity “surprise guest” to be announced soon… We are still firming up the list of attendees. At 12:30 pm there will be a Pit Parade of “Ambassadogs” between the two facilities. Please stop by. For more info, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
