On behalf of the Board of Directors and myself, I would, personally, like to thank all of our coordinators, volunteers, friends and supporters for their tireless devotion to our animal rescue mission.  This year, with the opening of our Wantagh Adoption Center, we have far surpassed all of our adoption records placing close to 800 cats and dogs into carefully screened homes – it may be more when our final figures are calculated.  I think all will agree that our hard work has paid off and our new Wantagh Adoption facility has been godsend.  In addition, our Huntington cat adoption center has focused on the animals needing assistance in the Town Shelters—they have implemented a new program called the Golden Whiskers Society which focuses on the needs of older dogs and cats languishing in our Town shelters. Because of this program, we can assist the senior dogs and cats that are truly forgotten in the Town shelters.

I want to wish everyone who has helped LAST HOPE achieve its goal of assisting dogs and cats that have no one, a healthy and happy holiday season. The new year will be upon us, and we know that means additional work and rescues.  Together, and one by one, we are making a difference in the lives of many needy dogs and cats. For this, I say thank you.
