COMET is a purebred Plott.
He comes to Last Hope as a stray from Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter.
It’s odd that such magnificent Hound would go unclaimed.
Plotts were originally bred to hunt wild boar. In 1750 Johannes Plott, a German immigrant, settled in the mountains of what is now N. Carolina. He brought several of his boar hunting Hounds from Europe.
Over generations Plott and his descendants refined the breed into the muscular , brindle huntng dog we see now. The Plott is the state dog of N. CAROLINA.
COMET is a bit small for a male Plott. He is about 2 years old, and would do best with a breed savvy and athletic owner.
