Details:   Enjoy an elegant open-bar cocktail party on the water with live jazz accompaniment (featuring The Paul Effman Cocktail Band), elaborate display of appetizers, delicious buffet dinner and dessert, dj/dancing, open bar all night, incredible raffle baskets to be won!   We also have prepared a special presentation for the many wonderful adopters we have met this past year – whether you have adopted or not you don’t want to miss it!

We are looking for volunteers to help us with our Flea Market this Saturday May 19th @ St. Bedes Church

  • Friday, May 18th  - Set up starting at 4 PM
  • Saturday, May 19th  - Work at the flea market 9:30 to 2:00
  • Saturday, May 19th  -  Clean up from 2pm until done

Please let us know if you can help out. If you have items to donate they can be dropped off 5 PM to 9PM on May 18th at St Bedes when we are there setting up and can accept them.

NO donations can be left outside the church at any other time !

By 6AM he was fed and ready to go, as he waited patiently for his mom to be ready for the 7:15 class.

The halls of Calhoun High School were alive with energy as Timmy was wheeled through the hallway in his pink stroller. He attended five speech and language classes usually taught by Sheila Mullin, Lori Smith and Mara Kaplan. These classes, however, were led by Last Hope volunteers Donna, Sue, Dale and Diane. The children were given information about the center that they would subsequently teach to the rest of the school.

Thanks to the efforts of the teachers and children at Calhoun, we at Last Hope will be the recipients of their good will in the form of donations for our dogs and cats. We are grateful for their interest and generosity.

My “brother” Chicky and I were turned in to the Town of Hempstead and lucky for us, Last Hope came by to spring us! I am a super friendly 8 month old Poodle/JRT mix. Please excuse my appearance, I was just neutered and they make me wear this cone. Did you ever try sleeping in one of these??? It’s pretty uncomfortable – well it will only be for a few days then I will back to my silly self – jumping around trying to get your attention and make you laugh! Though Chicky and I came in together it is not necessary that we be adopted together but if you are up for it so are we!! We just want a real family this time…someone who is going to love and cherish us. If you have what it takes – well what are you waiting for??? Come on down and start filling out the paper work!! I need a home!!

I’m Chicky – a 1 ½ year old wire coated Jack Russell Terrier. I was turned in to the Town of Hempstead with my “brother” Chachi who is an 8 month old Poodle/JRT mix. It seems that we had a family at one time but they must not have cared that much for us…sad, I know but all that is in the past as we are now looking to find our real FOREVER homes with people who will love and cherish us. Though Chachi and I were rescued together it is not necessary we be adopted together since I love getting all the attention and will roll on my back until you pet me!! Come one in – make my day and say I’m the one you’ve been looking for to make your family complete!!!
