Princess – ADOPTED!

“Princess” may or may not be a homeless victim of Superstorm Sandy.

To Last Hope, she is not a discard; she is royalty.

In the middle of February a couple brought this sweet but timid 7 lb. Chihuahua to Babylon Shelter saying that they found her in Copiague the day after the storm. Why did they wait so long? They claimed to have checked Lost & Found notices. They never notified the shelter about a FOUND dog back in November; and for a host of other reasons the shelter doubted their story, and whether they really lived in the town, especially since they had out of state plates and passports. Princess doesn’t seem to match any dogs that are missing locally since the storm, and may have belonged to these people.

It does seem that Princess was living in a one room apartment with the couple and their kids in a multi-family house, and the woman was now pregnant again. Perhaps there was no room for a teeny Chihuahua now. Princess is about 2 years old, a bit frightened of her new surroundings and loves to be carried around or to sit on your lap. She doesn’t mind being dressed up like a canine Barbie doll. She would love to be the center of a loving someone’s world.
