“Scrappy” became a Last Hope dog sight unseen. The plea came from Brookhaven Shelter that a Pit puppy had just come in with a terrible case of demodectic mange which is not contagious, but quite common in neglected, short-haired dogs. He was basically bald. This town shelter has about 200 dogs, mostly Pits and Pit mixes, so he’d be much better off in our smaller setting.

“Scrappy”, now about 10 months old and 34 lbs., went directly to an animal hospital where he stayed about a month for medicated dips, good nutrition and lots of TLC. By the time the sweet, easy-going mystery man arrived at Last Hope, his hair was beginning to grow back nicely, and he continues to bask in our TLC. Next stop, we hope-Home, Sweet, Home!
