ZIGGY-ADOPTED

My name is ZIGGY, and I need your help!

I guess I should backtrack for a minute. Nearly six years ago, I was adopted by a young couple studying at Stony Brook. They were wonderful! Everything was great! They loved me, I loved them!
And then, after four years, they decided to adopt a puppy. Well, I don’t know about you, but I don’t like getting my tail chewed on or my ears, for that matter. So, after living inside like a king, I was outside like a pauper.

Then, suddenly I was ALONE.
My family moved and didn’t take me!! And, let me tell you there are some tough community cats out there. If you’re not part of their clique, you are not welcome. I was scratched, bitten and chased. I had to fight for my food. I lost weight and my once handsome face became battle-scarred. After two years of all this unpleasantness, someone brought me to a vet for blood tests and shots. One of my tests came back positive for FIV. It’s OK, I’m perfectly healthy otherwise.

And, as much as my large enclosure at Last Hope is pretty nice compared to the cages I see, it isn’t a home. I need someone to LOVE ME again, someone who won’t leave me behind without a thought, someone who will see how sweet and affectionate I am!

Meet me at Last Hope Cat Center in Wantagh.
