SUBARU Loves Pets & Last Hope Loves SUBARU
We just received an amazing $3,100 donation from SUBARU as a Thank You for partnering with Subaru of America and Hassett Subaru in Wantagh during adoption events.
We received $100 for every dog or cat adopted from Last Hope during October 2020..up to $3,100 for the 31 days in October.
And we submitted a “Love Promise” story showing the impact SUBARU had on one of our dog’s adoption.
You are looking at our “Love Promise” story dog in this FB post. Ironically, her name was CAMRY- a Kentucky shelter Beagle who first came to Last Hope in 2017 needing treatment for heartworm.
She was adopted by an older couple who fostered her during her heartworm treatment .
Three years later, CAMRY came back to Last Hope when both of her pup parents were in declining health and no longer able to care for her.
Karina, a Last Hope volunteer was quite fond of CAMRY and upset to see the downcast way this sweet Beagle returned to her kennel after a happy walk.
Karina set a mental deadline. If CAMRY came back from Hassett Subaru’s Oct. 22nd “Make a Dog’s Day” event without someone interested in her, she would adopt CAMRY.
And that’s exactly what happened. CAMRY joined Karina’s family with welcome wags from her other dogs and the new name LOLA.
Yes, whatever LOLA wants; LOLA gets -thanks to Karina and to SUBARU.
