**Westbury Students & Seniors Work Together for Last Hope Dogs & Cats**

Fifth graders from the Park Avenue School in Westbury meet with senior citizen residents at the Westbury Bristal Assisted Living.

The 2 groups worked together to make knotted blankets for our orphan dogs & cats.

On June 11th, the 5th graders took a trip to the Bristal so students & seniors could meet Last Hope’s ambassadog Timmy, a 3-legged Lhasa, and present Last Hope with 30 colorful & cozy blankets.

We had a wonderful visit. Our new Westbury friends heard the story about Timmy’s leg amputation and how he became a certified therapy dog, and about what we do at Last Hope.

Everyone got to pet Timmy…his favorite activity..When we got back to Last Hope, Christie a tiny kitten rescued alone in a Commack yard tried out one of the new homemade blankets. She LOVES it.

Special thanks to Linda De Angelis, Last Hope volunteer & Park Avenue School teacher assistant, for getting Last Hope together with this wonderful Westbury group of friends with ages spanning several generations.
