On May 1st when Pork Chop ( originally “Stanton”) was rescued from a horrific situation, he wasn’t as chunky as he is now. Pork Chop, a hefty Jack Russell mix about 4 years old, was one of 13 court case dogs from Kentucky. A man left the dogs chained in a yard in the care of his 91 year old father who ran out of food for them. By the time they were discovered, some of the dogs had starved to death.
Pork Chop and the other survivors were sent to Rowan Co. pound. Even though, Pork Chop is Mr. Congeniality, he was attacked by other dogs in the pound. Soon after he was moved to a kennel foster situation by STAR, the local rescue group, where he got along well with everyone and started eating each meal as if it were his last.
Between the time of his seizure (5/1) and transport to Last Hope (10/20) Pork Chop packed about 9 pounds onto his compact frame. He now weighs 39 lbs. which means there is more of him to love. Pork Chop considers everyone his friend, but he deserves to find best friends who will stick by him forever.
I've found my forever home! Thank you!
