Tallah – ADOPTED!

“Tales of Tallah”…

Tallah (Before)Her owner died. Supposedly this 80 lb. longhaired Shepherd mix spent much of her life chained to a doghouse in his Deer Park yard. She stayed there after he died.

When the house was empty, neighbors fed “Tallah” on her chain for several months, and then called in cruelty complaints. The man’s estranged family didn’t know her name or her real age…we still don’t.

We estimate her age at 7-8 based on what the neighbors said and her pearly white teeth, clear eyes and ease of movement.

The estranged family brought her to Babylon town shelter to be put to sleep because they were tired of the complaints…The shelter refused. Instead they embraced her…and even anesthetized her so her horrible mats could be shaved off without discomfort. Her tail was one big mound of mats, and her back end looked as if she  had on a tutu or crinoline slip.

Tallah (after)“Tallah” is friendly, energetic and super- sweet. She has a spay scar and is heartworm negative—two miracles in themselves. She is now at Last Hope and we are hoping the BEST IS YET TO COME for “Tallah”…
