Lizzie – ADOPTED!

lizzie3Some dogs have tremendous tolerance.

They continue to love all people despite lives of suffering and neglect. “Lizzie” is one such dog. It is hard to imagine what she has endured.

“Lizzie” arrived Last Hope as a stray from a Kentucky shelter in an impoverished county. She comes without the ability to answer our background questions. It is hard to estimate her true age. Our vet thinks she is 3 to 5 years old. The skin on her back and hindquarters is red and irritated. Perhaps flea dermatitis, bad nutrition, allergies or combo of these and more.

lizzie_(2)Both top canine teeth are cut, broken or filed in half; most of her front teeth are gone. Did she chew rocks? Did she try to work herself out of a crate or wire cage? Or did someone intentionally grind them down? We will never know.

Although it appears as if she’s had a hard life, “Lizzie” craves love and affection, and gives it right back to whomever pays attention to her. She doesn’t hold any grudges. She forgives all human shortcomings, and is looking toward the future when someone nice and kind will love and appreciate her forever and she gets along well with cats too!!
