Announcement from Last Hope’s Awesome Aussie named “Charlie”:

“I know hand signals- SIT, DOWN, STAY, and I am looking for an afficionado of my breed to give me the best of homes.”

“Charlie” a 4 year old purebred blue merle Australian Shepherd is as smart as he is handsome. He came to Last Hope on Long Island on a transport from a Virginia shelter where he had been reluctantly surrendered by his former owner. A message from the former owners:

“Charlie is a neutered purebred Australian Shepherd. He has a microchip. I do not want to give Charlie up, however, my daughter and 3 year old grandson just came to live with me and my grandson is afraid of him.

He enjoys riding in the truck and all you have to do is open the door and say “tumba” and he will jump in. He leads really well on a leash and doesn’t pull. Charlie is very intelligent and knows many commands. He is not destructive and enjoys being inside or out.”

And a message from the Virginia shelter director:

” We have had Charlie for 2 months now. He LOVES people. He walks perfectly on a leash. He knows many commands and is very well behaved. He is 100% clean in his room. He does not get along with all dogs… The youngest child that I’ve witnessed him interact with is a 10 year old girl. He loved her. He is beautiful – weighs 80 pounds – is microchipped, neutered, fully vetted.”
