Calling all Herding Dog lovers!

Calling all Australian Cattle Dog (ACD or Blue Heeler) devotees!

“Diesel” a purebred ACD aka Australian Cattle Dog ( or Blue Heeler) came to Last Hope on Long Island from a shelter in Kentucky. He was a bit shy at first, and had to be coaxed through the door with pets and cookies.
Diesel is about 4 years old and has the “intellectual potential” of his breed to do obedience and performance training. ACDs can also be a bit stubborn, and “Diesel” is true to his breed. He would do best in a one dog home without young children. ACDs tend to herd young kids as if they were cattle gone astray. We would love to see an experienced ACD or Herding Dog person take an interest in “Diesel”. He needs a strong leader and consistency of expectations from each family member.
