Clara arrived at Last Hope in November 2015 after suddenly appearing at a Bay Shore cat colony as a friendly newcomer who was clearly out of place among the feral cats. Our vet estimated her to be about 3 years old at that time. Clara is not comfortable around young, active cats or children. She definitely has her favorites among the volunteers; some can pick her up and place her on their laps while others get a swat of disapproval when they try to pet her. She has no teeth (Dental disease necessitated all of her teeth to be extracted). She would do best as the only pet in a low key, quiet household. Clara needs someone who would simply allow Clara to be Clara without expectations of turning her into a social butterfly. She is a cat who enjoys company on her own terms and lets you know when she doesn’t and who enjoys a soft bed placed near a sunny window with a view. Clara needs an owner who is willing to be patient with her as she adjusts to new surroundings. She deserves to have a home of her own after so many years without one.
