Pretty ZINFANDEL sits in the lobby Jungle Room, looks out of her glass enclosure and wonders if she will ever meet her special person & leave Last Hope.
After all, she and her “wine cat siblings have been in the Jungle Room one whole year now…
Since the homeless man who had been feeding the cat crew in an East Meadow lot had already disappeared at least 3 weeks ago, the cats were ravenously hungry .
….Last Hope sent John Debacker to assess the situation.
The cats were so eager for food, they ran up to John.
He didn’t need to do much trapping, the cats ran right up to him .
John brought all 15- black & tabby young cats to Last Hope.
Turns out when their bellies were full, they were shy, and reluctant to socialize.
Gradually, the crew became relaxed & accustomed to human touch.
One year later, 6 East Meadow cats, including ZINFANDEL, are still waiting for comfy, permanent homes.
