My name is Dana and I am a sweet and well-mannered Shepherd/Retriever mix about 18 months old. After having several litters, I was abandoned on a mountain top in West Virginia, and then taken by a man who tried to be kind but had little means to provide food or care for me. I was was tied in his yard to a wooden box too small for my frame and forced to sleep on the frozen mud during sub-freezing nights. A local volunteer from a local West Virginia Shelter was able to persuade him to turn me over to her. The people at the WV shelter brought me back from the brink of starvation and I will be forever grateful! Since responsible homes are few and far between in this part of rural WV, a group of us were sent up to Last Hope where we are hoping to find our forever homes!!! Won’t you stop by and visit with me – I may even share my chair with you!!
I've found my forever home! Thank you!
