Derek – ADOPTED!

Hi – My name is Derek – and I am an AMAZING LOVABLE 2 ½ year old Boy

Thank you for visiting me – PLEASE READ MY STORY…

I was dropped off a Town Shelter in June, 2011.  My mom suddenly died – and I was with her since I was a few weeks old.  When my mom died – my entire world changed.  I was left in an empty apartment for days and days – with just one big bowl of water and one big bowl of dry food.   The family emptied the place out – but they didn’t want me – so they just left me there like a piece of garbage.

Some of the neighbors knew of me – and when they saw me in the window and kept hearing me meow – they made arrangements to get into the apartment and rescue me.  Even though I knew some of them from when they visited my mom- none had the space or desire to give me a home with them.  So, they  brought me to the Town Shelter.

I was in the Town Shelter 8 months before Last Hope saw me and was able to rescue me.   Now I knew that I would get a home and at least be kept alive until I got a good home – no matter how long it may take.

I am a purr machine – lovable, kissy, gentle and love to play too.  I am a real buddy.   Everyone says they have never seen anything like it – but then they pass me by.  Now kitten season is coming soom – I hope I don’t get passed up for those cute little kittens – that certainly wont have the same personality as I have – you wouldn’t do that, would you?

I reach out of my cage and hold hands when getting attention – I love people talking to me and petting me and combing me,  I get so sad when they leave – but it is worth it just to have visitors.

So – I am sure you are happy Spring is coming – fresh air and birds chirping and sunshine — can I sit in a window and enjoy these things and be happy with you?   You wont be disappointed!

All my medical needs have been met – I have been tested, vaccinated, wormed and neutered – I have a clean bill of health.

I will leave pawprints on your heart –

Derek
