Hi – I am DORI– a 2 year young very lovable friendly lady. I love people and other cats – could I love you too???
Believe it or not – I was living with my human mom since a kitten. Due to very unfortunate circumstances, she became homeless – and so did I.
So we lived together in her car for weeks. Fortunately, it wasn’t mid winter – but it still was very cold and no room to play. But I was with my mom. She would lock me in the car while she would go out to try and get work and also food for both of us.
We lived near the Last Hope Center – and so my mom asked Last Hope if I could stay there for a short time – and she would visit me daily. This way I had room to walk around and was guaranteed a meal every day. Last Hope always rescues from shelters, not private families or homes – but this was extenuating circumstances. So they said “Yes”. So I was nervous at first, but I made friends and saw my mom every day. This went on for quite a few weeks.
In the meantime, Last Hope took care of all the medical needs and I had all my updated vaccines and checkup – I have a clean bill of health!! I was spayed as a young kitten.
One day my mom just stopped visiting me. No one had a way to reach her – and in time, someone in the community told us that she was real sick and could no longer have the hope of taking me back – she couldn’t even visit me any longer. I am sure she was so very sad – and so was I.
So I stayed at Last Hope Center for a while and made lots of friends. But every week another friend got adopted – I was always overlooked. They say I am pretty – but am I really? I kept getting overlooked for the younger kittens or cats that may be a bit prettier. I am still young – I need to run and play and stay healthy and in shape and I desperately need love.
So – last week I was moved here – with the hope that someone will really get to know me and love me for who I am and welcome me into their heart and home. I am a friendly nibbler – I do not bite – I hold your hand and give love bites. That is really all I can do in a cage to show affection. But I guess when a black cat does that – people think we are nasty – and I am not one bit nasty – please give me a chance to show you who I really am.
The holidays and winter are just around the corner – I really hope I am not still in this cage and alone – my holiday wish is to have a family and a home.
Can you make my wish come true????
Dori
