“Elmer” a Bluetick Hound/Cattle Dog mix has mesmerizing movie star eyes, but his unfinished Hollywood story still needs a happy ending. He deserves a loving home.
Earlier this summer Elmer and his presumed twin brother showed up as strays at an overcrowded Kentucky shelter and soon were scheduled to be euthanized for space. At the time, Last Hope committed to take another Hound from this death due group but left Elmer behind b/c so many other dogs were coming to our LI rescue that week. Another group pulled Elmer’s brother.
Because of a KY staffing shortage and the rescue of some of his canine cohorts, the euthanasia didn’t happen as planned, so Elmer was spared. He was sponsored by a secret admirer, but still no rescue group stepped up to the plate for him despite his free vetting. Several weeks later he found himself on a transport to Last Hope…
What a wonderful dog!! Elmer is between 1-2 years old, and weighs 52 pounds…He is very patient and lovable, and gets along with other dogs.
I've found my forever home! Thank you!
