“Gertie” is a pearl of a girl!

This older Shepherd mix, somewhere around 8 years old and 53 pounds, turned up at Hempstead Town Shelter as a stray found in the street, and recently moved next door to Last Hope where she  has claimed a Meet ‘n Greet as her private suite. Gertie made herself right at home there.

She has wonderful manners and loves everyone – adults, kids, and other dogs. Gertie shines when given attention. She seems to have been a family pet, although she was just spayed last week as part of her rescue routine…Gertie is the type of dog that will pay back the love showered on her a thousand times over. She deserves a wonderful home where she will ALWAYS be appreciated  for the pearl of a girl she is.
