Leonard – ADOPTED!

Hi! My name is Leonard and I’m a 7 month old kitten. I was found outside, so badly emaciated and so filthy that at first the vets thought I was a sick, older cat! Well, I was cleaned up and they discovered I wasn’t old at all, but a little kitten! I was nursed back to health, having to have a few teeth removed because they were so badly rotted and painful, but now I have a clean bill of health and I’m ready for a family to call my own! I have the softest coat in the world with beautiful markings and I love to cuddle! Up until I came to Last Hope I had not had any contact with other cats, can you believe it!? The sight of them confused and scared me at first, but now I’m warming up to them. I’m even starting to try to play with the other kittens! It’s all very confusing but everyone keeps saying how much of a brave little survivor I am. Well that’s great and all but I would like a home of my own right about now. I think that’s where you come in?!

So that was my story – and then three weeks ago I was adopted – and unbeknownst to Last Hope –the family had a Weimaraner. I was not confined for two weeks as requested by Last Hope until I got accustomed to the home – I was let lose in the house to free roam, so for almost three weeks I was totally terrorized by this huge dog. It was a kittens worse nightmare to be chased and tormented by a hunting dog who has no regard for small “prey”. When Last Hope inquired as to how I was adjusting, they were told the truth – and this Friday, May 18th, I was taken back from the family and put back into the adoption program.

But, I am so upset – so confused – I don’t trust anyone or anything – I am a nervous wreck and need to decompress and maybe relax and be pet and adoptable again. I am in a frenzy and hope with the help of all of you and some gentle QUIET words – I will come around. All these noises all these strange faces – I need to adjust and trust. Please bear with me – I am really a loving kind kitten who needs a wonderful home so I can play and be a kitten and build a relationship with my family. Please give me a chance – and please understand my story. I am not a feral acting cat at all – I was totally adoptable and thought I had a wonderful home to grow up in.

If you have any questions about me – or think you can give me the home I need – please call mary at 631-495-5787. I need a quiet loving home – maybe with another cat or two that are nice and will accept me – and a home that will take the time to acclimate me and make me feel totally comfortable and trusting before letting me lose in a home that is totally unfamiliar with people I hardly know. Please help me find this home. I will be fur-ever greatful

PURR-fectly yours,

Leonard
