“Mario” was born 2 weeks before Easter in 2010 but there have been few celebrations in his young life. This Shepherd mix, about 45 lbs., arrived at Last Hope from a Virginia Shelter along with a package – On the outside it said: “Mario’s life before.  Mario’s life now .”  Inside the package was a wire chain and collar. The bag said: “No more chain”.  Mario’s new life began when he was taken off that chain on July 25, 2012.

He is a loving boy who will need to learn leash manners, and when it is appropriate to bark. The process has already started with the many walks he enjoys alongside the Last Hope volunteers. He is young, and eager to please. Mario’s “life now” will be even brighter when he finds his special someone.
