New Information on Last Hope Spay/Neuter Clinics

To those who utilize Last Hope’s TNR clinics:

There will 3 feral cat clinics held this fall and one for people’s cats. Information on low-cost spay/neuter options for dogs will be available by mid-October. It has become apparent that concentrating on feral cats is very much needed, but individuals also need a lower-cost option for their dogs and cats that are pets or strays that they have adopted. Because of this, Last Hope is going to try to help these pet owners with very low-cost spay/neuters. Our first clinic to do this will be in late October.

For our feral cat clinics, we are going to make some changes and go back to basic spay/neuters, vaccines and flea treatments. All cats will receive notched ears. That means we will no longer be microchipping or testing the ferals. If it is determined that a cat is not well at the clinic, we will test it with Last Hope test kits. Leukemia positive cats will be euthanized while under sedation. No kittens will be accepted under 4 months of age for our clinics.

Please note updated charges effective immediately through January 1, 2025:

$30 per cat (feral)

  • Package includes spay/neuter, ear tip, FVRCP, rabies and flea treatment.
  • If the cat receives a Convenia shot at the client’s request, or the vet’s advice, there will be an additional charge of $25
  • Antibiotics (Clavamox) will be distributed at $15 a box (if requested or suggested.)

$50 (female) and $40 (male) per domesticated cat

  • This includes vaccines and flea treatments.

We are not adding any additional charges for pregnancies, cryptorchid, etc.

Unfortunately, we have had to make these changes due to problems with our prior clinics.

Please try to stay within our guidelines so we do not have to make further adjustments.

We need to concentrate on ferals for these clinics and do as many as possible.

We will not be spaying and neutering litters of kittens that are being placed up for adoption. This is not the purpose of our clinics. Arrangements need to be made at other low-cost clinics such as Helping Paws and Island Rescue for rescued animals. Last Hope clinics are funded by our fundraising efforts and grants. To use these funds for other their intended purpose will jeopardize future funding opportunities.

Thank you for your cooperation,
