REX is the only one of Nina’s miracle puppies still in need of a home.
Here is his family’s amazing story: Nina (the Mom) a young, thin, blue-eyed Shepherd mix was hit by a car before Thanksgiving and pulled out of the road left for dead. The next morning Babylon Town Shelter had a message on their tape saying where they could pick up a dead dog. When the Animal Control Officer approached that spot, she screamed when she saw Nina move. She rushed the dog to the animal emergency. Full testing revealed no bones were broken but Nina was in shock. She had neurological damage causing her front foot to turn over. (This has resolved.) Back at the shelter, we learned Nina was heartworm positive too. Soon after Nina came to Last Hope and went into a wonderful foster home during her heartworm treatment. When she was done with her immiticide, Nina went to the vet to make a spay appointment. Lo & behold, the vet realized she was pregnant. Her 6 pups were born Jan. 15th. How did they survive such trauma?
REX is in a foster home waiting to be chosen the way his littermates were. His foster Mom says: “He has learned the sit and down command. Very treat motivated. Goes in his crate when told too. Yes he’s a puppy & loves to play. He fetches and brings it back! So gifted! ”
REX will be 9 weeks old on March 20th the first day of spring. He hopes the new season will bring him the forever home he so desires.
I've found my forever home! Thank you!
