Tiny “Tater” is a special needs dog. He came to Last Hope just before New Year’s Eve from Hempstead Town Shelter next door. He is a senior Lhasa, about 10 years old who had been neglected. Tater was neutered recently.
He suffers from dry eye, a common ailment in older dogs of his breed, and will need surgery for a perineal hernia which tends to occur in older, intact male dogs.He was weak and underweight (13 lbs.) so our vet wants him to gain a few pounds before this operation. Presently he is a sweetheart in a foster home with young children. Tater is even a patient boy when eye drops are administered. Tater will be seeking a forever home where he will be the only dog.
I've found my forever home! Thank you!
