“Trooper” is truly a trooper. This 12 lb. Miniature Poodle, between 2 to 3 years old, was hit by a car while out in the streets of Wyandanch. Babylon Town Shelter picked him up as an injured stray and rushed him to the emergency hospital where his badly damaged eye was removed. He also had tire tracks on his matted, white fur. In time when his Poodle curls grow back, his missing eye will be less noticeable .

Despite such a painful ordeal, Trooper remains a happy, lovable soul who greets everyone he meets in a cheerful way. He came to Last Hope in Wantagh so that we can find him a special home.  Consider this…. In some respects, his injury and subsequent surgery made it more likely that Trooper will have a long, happy life as a cherished, one-eyed Poodle than he did as a neglected, two-eyed Poodle.
