So very happy for this fella!!

An update from Buster (aka Sunshine’s family)

Hi Letty, John and Rachel,
I just wanted to give you all a brief update on Buster AKA Sunshine. First, the people in the park have renamed him Sunshine as they believe he truly brights up everyone’s day.  So, although I still call him Buster, Michael renamed him Sunshine…he doesn’t hear so I don’t think the change will be all that traumatic.  He’s got another nickname as well…Bumble.

He’s really fallen into household routines and is bounding out the door at 5 AM for his first walk and comes back ready for a treat reward (getting used to the elevator) and then breakfast!  Now that we added a bit of wet food, he’s a GREAT eater.  He’s also mindful of his brother, who eats slower so Slater gets a few stares but no stealing going on.  haha

He’s gone to the groomer…a very good boy and looks wonderful.  Quite fluffy…He went to the vet last night.  We’ll get his bloodwork back today but our vet thinks he’s in good shape.  His ears were clear so no medication for him, the vet switched him from glucosame, etc to s/t like it but in a chewy form which he gobbles up.  He wants us to gradually change him from the mature adult food to senior formula. Buster tried to hide his age but was found out!  He received his Lyme titer and was a very good boy throughout the process.  He’s 55 pounds so our vet doesn’t want him to gain any weight but, since he knows us as Italian/Jewish foodies, told us that if he gained 5 pounds it
wouldn’t be the worse thing in the world.

No tushy biting since his first event, he’s making friends, a bit of competition with Slater when it comes to chewies so we picked them all up and they each get one at nighttime when we’re watching them.  He’s liking the brushing and belly rubs.  Also, we know he’s feeling comfortable because last night he jumped up on the bed with us and Slatie, and fell fast asleep.

He’s a natural when it comes to apartment living!  We’re in LOVE and I think Slatie’s cautiously moving from the “OK, is the experiment up yet?” stage to “he’s not so bad afterall.”

THANKS AGAIN!
Donna
