Last fall, a little cat named Flash, whom her foster called Precious, came to our Adoption Center, then to our adoption area in PetSmart, Huntington, where she was much loved by the volunteers. She was a weaker cat than most and, in November, she became ill and was sent to a vet for treatment. During the time she was there, other complications developed and there were attempts to address her health issues in many ways. Eventually, it was decided to allow her to go home with her loving foster who continued to care for her. Even the resident cats, Nemo and Molly, befriended and loved her. Everything possible was tried to bring her back to good health. Sadly, that was not meant to be. In the good times, during the last few weeks of her life, Precious enjoyed sitting on the window and chirping at the birds but, ultimately, all hope for her was gone and it was decided that she should be spared any suffering. She was gently helped to cross the Rainbow Bridge on the morning of February 1, 2015. Precious is remembered by all who knew her as a sweet and loving….and very special….little girl.
