Homer Winky was brought into Last Hope’s Wantagh Adoption Center with several siblings. Homer had an eye problem which was examined by a vet that it could not be saved and it would have to sewn shut. After a lengthy stay at the vet’s office where he recovered from surgery he finally got released about a month ago, and went home with our volunteer Diane. He’s finished his meds and seems to have adjusted totally to only seeing with the one eye. When he first got home, he would run into walls and was very scared but now he is a pro at running, jumping and he even greets new people who come into the house. Home is now enjoying his missed “kittenhood”. Amazing what a bit of love and caring can do!!
