It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Bret passed away this evening at the Adoption Center.

His foster had stopped by to visit with him earlier this afternoon and at that time he seemed fine. Later on, our afternoon crew noted that he seemed to be having difficulty breathing. We knew that he had a heart murmur and in fact he was scheduled for his routine semi annual sonogram, but it seems that since his last sonogram his condition had become much more serious. Our volunteer, Leslie, rushed him to be seen by a vet this evening, but his condition had worsened on the way. When they arrived at the animal hospital, he received immediate care. Unfortunately they were unable to reverse the congestive heart failure.
