Jeffrey – ADOPTED!

“Jeffrey” can’t tell us how long he’s hobbled around on his fractured front leg, but it was long enough that the now useless leg had healed on its own, making him look like Captain Hook.

The leg lurched the poor chubby (31 lbs.) Beagle forward and made it hard for him to balance his weight. This stray, middle-aged fellow showed up at Brookhaven Shelter several months ago before moving to Last Hope.

Our vet said that the nerves were dead; “Jeffrey” would move better if the leg were amputated. After the surgery, Jeffrey convalesced in a foster home where he got along well with the resident Bichon.

While learning to maneuver on 3-legs, Jeffrey awaits a forever home that will cherish him and (help him go on a diet). Might that be YOU?
