Last Hope took MARS & 4 of his hoarder housemates from Hempstead Town Shelter after the huge seizure & condemnation of the residence.
Most of the cat prisoners were shell-shocked, and the majority had severe eye infections like our boy MARS.
Last Hope arranged to have his eye surgically removed to lessen his pain.
MARS is about 6 years old, and. as he decompresses & heals, is beginning to enjoy petting around his head from our devoted volunteers.
To think such a sweet orange tabby would be forced to endure such suffering & neglect for up to 6 whole years.
He is on his way toward adoptability..
MARS is a “special project” cat for someone who would like to devote a lot of time gaining his confidence that people are not going to hurt him/
To meet MARS at Last Hope in Wantagh without an appointment, please come from Wed. through Sunday from 12:30 to 6pm, but you must be wearing a face mask.
I've found my forever home! Thank you!
