Pia – ADOPTED!

Hi, my name is Pia and I’m a female pint-sized Pointer about 18 months old. I was a stray who came to Last Hope via an urgent post from rescuers at an overcrowded West Virginia shelter. They learned about me the weekend before I was scheduled to be put to sleep because I had “over-stayed” my welcome (which means I had already been at the shelter 5 weeks and had no adoption prospects-sad huh?) Talk about down to the wire!!!

Anyhow, I am tiny and thin, only 31 lbs., active and happy like all young Pointers and will need some basic training but I am eager to learn but would probably do best with a person with strong canine leadership skills. In spite of it all, I am a real tail-wagger. I am being socialized with dogs of all sizes, but I should’t be placed with cats – not my cup of tea. Since I am pint-sized, I love to be carried around by the Last Hope volunteers and they love to do it! I also happen to love playing ball – you throw it, I’ll get it and bring right back so you can throw it again!!!

I have already been spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested at a WV veterinary hospital before my transport here. If you are interested in meeting me, please come down to our Wantagh Adoption Center…Oh I hope you do!!!
