SOPHIA Has Heartworm;
She’s looking for Someone with a big HEART to FOSTER her.

We knew SOPHIA had heartworm when we took her from a KY shelter several weeks ago.

We knew we’d be doing her heartworm treatment on LI.

We also knew she was a favorite of the KY rescue coordinator, tiny (22 lbs) , sweet & young.

SOPHIA has begun her HW pre-treatment & would do best in a quiet FOSTER home when she begins official treatment.

In between & after immiticide injections, heartworm dogs need to remain calm & quiet so there are no complications caused as adult heartworm are dissipating . Too much exercise can spark a pulmonary embolism.

SOPHIA is a sweetheart…and would benefit from 1 of 2 types of FOSTER Homes:

A.) Foster during HW treatment til recovery..then return to Last Hope. Last Hope pays all expenses.

B.) Foster -to -ADOPT….The foster family wants SOPHIA as a Forever pet but she remains a foster during treatment & recovery. Last Hope pays all expenses until her adoption is finalized.
