Teddy Roosevelt – ADOPTED

Teddy TOH1.bmp“Teddy” a young  brindle Aussie mix was a stray at Hempstead Town Animal Shelter several times until his family decided they didn’t have time for him and surrendered him. He became one of well over 100 dogs at the town shelter competing for potential adopters’ attention. “Teddy” is about 18 months old and weighs 55 pounds. He did well on his evaluation at Hempstead Shelter and has potential as a dog with a family with young kids. He may need reinforcement of the basics and housebreaking because his previous owners “did not have time for him” so most likely training was not a priority.
This sweet boy walked next door to us at Last Hope. The distance may be short, but the walk can make a huge difference in “Teddy’s” future. Our friends at Hempstead are operating a municipal shelter that must take in every stray dog found in the town, whereas Last Hope is a private non-profit that only holds a maximum of 20 dogs at a time. It is easier to shine the spotlight on a dog in our smaller setting…When we do, and when we find “Teddy” a great home, we will be able to take another dog from a municipal shelter and shine the spotlight on him too. Might “Teddy” fit nicely into your family?
