Seymour – ADOPTED!

Seymour“Seymour” is “Mr. Personality”; everyone who meets him agrees.

Although he has the aesthetic earmarks of a hard life endured outdoors, “Seymour” is happy all the time. He has fly strike ears, cuts on his face and a pink sunburned nose, but more serious, he tested positive for heartworm (which is caused by infected mosquitoes). Despite these woes, Seymour’s tail is a wagging machine.

In March someone found “Seymour” a stray 73 pound Lab mix, estimated to be 8 years old, perhaps younger, and held onto him for a few weeks before turning him into Babylon Shelter. During that time, we are told he got along quite well with her dogs, cats and kids. He instantly became everyone’s favorite at the shelter, where unfortunately he tested positive for heartworm, not a huge surprise because we had the feeling he had spent quite a bit of time neglected outdoors.

After the shelter kindly provided blood work and chest x-rays, Seymour went directly to one of our vets for his first heartworm treatment. He made many more friends in his week stay at the hospital, and is now at Last Hope in Wantagh where he quickly is acquiring a larger fan club. “Seymour” is quite happy, yet we know he would be ecstatic if he found a family or special someone with whom to share his boundless love.
